A collection of real tears from my peers on microscopic slides was prompted by the common act of crying which unites us and yet with each type of tear, manifests itself very differently as it crystalises. The resin tear became a symbol of the project which formed my undergraduate degree show proposal in May 2020. Entitled 'On The Verge of Tears' it encompassed video and etched tiles and Perspex domes with light, depicting the unique movement of the crystalisation process. It was proposed to form a space for the contemplation of what we had each lost during the first lockdown.
